9 yrs ago this week

It was a cold February 1st 2003 all over the T.V. that day was the very sad news that the  Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated over Texas. Laurel Clark from Racine WI was killed that day along with the other members of that flight. On that very same day at the time of the news breaking out our family was going to grow. I was being induced that am. It was our first baby and it was a boy. My doctor was Dr. Brockmann. One week prior my heart rate was high and so was my blood pressure so she & I picked Feb 1st at 8am to induce me. They started all my meds by 9am and the race was on. We were one of the last families to deliver at St. Luke's of Racine as it was closing and moving the following week.
By 10am I was having some pain and at noon she broke my water. We watched the space shuttle crash all day long due to the fact at that time they only had 4 channels and it was before I-phones and DVDs. At 1pm my pain was bad and I got an epidural...thank goodness for that. At 4:45 I was getting ready to push and at 5:01pm Mason Spencer was born!
He cried just twice. Mason weighed 6lbs 8.8oz. He was such a little baby. We fell in love with him as soon as we saw him. I loved that time in the hospital (with all 3 of my kids) I think cause it is a time where we spend most of the time focusing on our new delivery. It was a special time of us 3 to bond. We were released on Feb 3rd and we were so very excited to start our new life together. Mike was able to be home with us for 2wks. Mason was a terrific baby and a fun toddler. He loved learning new things and being silly. He loved to make us laugh.
Now 9yrs later and he is a sweet boy. Mason is thoughtful, sweet & caring. He doesn't like trouble & likes to play by the rules. Mason LOVES math and likes reading. He still loves to make us and others laugh. He enjoys playing baseball and might try football this year. Mason has always had an ear for music and plays drums well. He is a great big brother and a wonderful son. He continues to make us proud everyday. We still can't believe that 9yrs flew by but we love seeing him grow. Thank you Mason for being one of our greatest gifts ever! Happy birthday, Mason Spencer!

Giving our house much needed attention

We have been in our house now for over 8yrs. When we first moved in everything was brand new. We had all new things in a house built in the 1900's. But adding 3 kids and a puppy has put this house through the ringer. So we started last yr making small improvements. Last year 2009-2010 we painted the living room and put in a new patio door and a screen door on the front. This yr 2011-2012 we have stained the deck and rails, new roof on the house, painted the hallway added new installation. I think we will be adding a patio this summer, new faucets in bathrooms and kitchen, redecorate up stairs bathroom and maybe new carpet in living room. We love our home and its needs some TLC just like we do once and a while.

Our snow babies

The kids were so excited for the first big snow this year. Although I think they would have been happy even with only a little snow. Here are some of my favs of the kids playing in the snow. I will for sure post more of our day sledding soon.

I simply love her smile and rosey cheeks in this one!

He's getting so big and more handsome every year!

Parker love the snow the most. I love his missing teeth!

My love for my cousins

Many people have awesome friends and great family. Or the other way around. Few people can say truly that their family are some of their bestest friends. Well I can say that! We have a great time, always laughing, playing games and a few drinks are shared. I love the time I get to spend with them & can't wait to do it again!
Angel & Kurt, They were both in our wedding and Angel was my first best friend. We played barbies, shared secerts, danced to Michael Jackson songs til no end, partied in Platteville til the sun came up, were in each others weddings, helped welcome each other babies, went to Brewer games together and many more fun times.

Gary & Jenni many amazing times shared with them. Sleepovers when we were younger. They were also in our wedding, Packer games w/ the longest & funniest ride home ever, being there for our babies births, Brewer games, picnics and many parties.

Our special day with my family. Us (chicks & hens) as we call our self's go out for each others birthdays. We have done it for years and we have many great memories from these times together.

Last but not least. I had to put in Aunt Terri & Uncle Duane. They are amazing people and some fun memories are made with them every year. I am lucky to have them both in our lives!
